Need Help... yes, again.

In Off-topic

Allright, I need to get fifty answers for a school survey, I figured I could get some of them here, if nobody minds.

what's the point of tax payers paying for some asshole to sit in jail for 7 life sentences that murdered 3 people. i say kill 'em. and non of that wimpy injection bullshit. shock them, snipe them, make them pay. bastards

I say no.

why? explain your answer.

why? explain your answer.

Because two wrongs don't make a right.

According to my drama teacher at school the last 3 people in Britain to receive the death penalty before it was abolished have all since been proven innocent. I don't know how true that is (my teacher was known for living in a bit of a fantasy world) but it's food for thought. It's easy to let a wrongly convicted person out of jail, not so easy to let them out of being dead. Until we have a justice system that is 100% reliable I'm against capital punishment.

Because two wrongs don't make a right.

oh come on, you can come up with something better than that.

I just don't think its a good idea to kill somebody for any reason. Even if that person murdered people. Because only God can give and take lifes.

I just don't think its a good idea to kill somebody for any reason. Even if that person murdered people. Because only God can give and take lifes.

i don't agree with that (i don't believe in god and all that), but that's a much better answer than you gave before.

I personally feel that capital punishment should not be used as retribution.
I DO believe that it should be used in cases where the individual is mentally unstable and incurable. Namely, pedophiles, because our responsibility to protect children takes precedence over the civil rights of said individuals.

Despite what some psychologists want you to believe, pedophiles are . If a dog makes an unprovoked attack on someone and draws blood, it is put down. You can't trust it, it's a danger to itself and others, and there is a definite chance that it will repeat itself. I believe the same logic should be applied to pedophiles and serial killers, as cruel as it may seem.

Let me ask you this... if you don't belive in God then what put you on this earth?

my mom

Who put your Mom's parents on the earth? And what about there Parents so on...

Capital punishment.. religion.. this is rapidly turning into the unofficial dabates thread.

So who thinks NES Altered Beast sucks?

to be honest, i have no idea what put us here. i don't think anything "put" us here. we just sorta showed up. whatever the answer is, i think it has more to do with science rather than mystical POWers.

and if God "put" us here, where the hell did he come from? certainly he didn't "create" himself. that's just silly

yeah... back on topic. yay for capitol punishment

and if God "put" us here, where the hell did he come from? certainly he didn't "create" himself. that's just silly

God never had a Start. And we will never have a end. He is the Alpha and the Omega.

well, i don't see how that's feasible, but whatever. arguing about religious beliefs is stupid. none of us are right, so let's just drop it and get back on subject

Touche, Mr. Daynum. I suggest we continue the conversation on the debates thread, and meanwhile sign up as different identities and get my fifty answers. , kidding.

he has always been there. what other way would anything be able to exist?

Have a nice time in hell, son. ( not directed at andrew, or daynum)

I beleive it should be used for those fucking sickos that rape little children.
They deserve to get their eyeballs ripped out with BQ prongs, Baseball bat shoved up their ass, stomach ripped open with a exacto knife, while a sumo wrestler sits naked on their face and scalps them with a small, dull pocket knife.

im not catholic...

(In reference to Mr. OGTL's statement.)
Exactumundo. That's exactly what they deserve. However, we need to keep it as impersonal as possible. May I suggest Madame Le Guillotine?

Final judgement such as that can only be justly given when presented with absolute proof.

Too bad there's no such thing as absolute proof in such a corrupt system as the justice system.

Have a nice time in hell, son.

Yes but maybe they could pray forgiveness. There for no one has the right to die. If he didn't make his peace with God he will die...I mean he will not enter the kingdom of heaven but Hell. Either way like I stated before no one has the right to die.

no you're not

Yes, he could pray for forgiveness. HOWEVER, said person is incurable, and needs to be either killed or PERMANENTLY removed from society. Seriously, though, let's move to debates.

no you're not

What-are-you-talking-about-commander? (Snipes Campkill, drives off in a truck)

I'd say they need to be shoved into a glass jar, and fed food until they can't get any fatter, and suffocate.

Bansai Pedophiles. I like it.

It could be the next 'pet rock' fad.

i know i'd buy one.

Just imagine it on the Home Shopping Network. I'd buy three.

You could buy 3 or 4, and connect them with hamster cage style tubing.

They would make good security systems aswell. Who's gonna go into a house to steal shit when there's a jarred paedophile inside?

It's amazing how quickly a heated, philosophical discussion can devolve into an incredibly fun conversation about a disturbingly wierd topic... I was compelled, I tells ya!

I bet my bottom dollar I am the reason this topic is so off-topic.

You were the only one topic, figgster.

he started the whole God debate

Oy! Didn't I snipe you already?

I think that if there is DNA evidence; that leave NO doubt what so ever that someone commited a horrible crime (or they admited to it) like murdering people (without self defense, just out of pure evil) or raping kids should be "put down", and I'm not talking about a nice cival lethal injection.

Why the F*CK should taxpayers have to pay for these monster's free room, food and healthcare (in some instances college) when more than half the rest of the honest members of the community have none of these. It's dumb.

I think bonzai pedofiles is too easy on them. I think we should send them over the the russian mafia (like in the movie hostel) and they can have sicko's torture them. Then sell the meat to the cannibals.

For the record I do believe in a higher "being" but I don't believe "God" has the supernatural abilities that the bible claims. If that were so why wouldn't he just rid the world of these vermine??? Why would he allow innocent children to be raped and emotionaly damaged like that?? It all just doesn't compute in my mind....

In the words of Ian anderson, the song My God, from Aqualung album, he describes how the widely accepted definition of 'God' and organised religion seperates a man from the 'real' God.
People -- what have you done --
Locked him in his golden cage.
Made him bend to your religion --
Him resurrected from the grave.
He is the God of nothing --
If that’s all that you can see.
You are the God of everything --
He’s inside you and me.
So lean upon him gently
And don’t call on him to save you
From your social graces
And the sins you used to waive.
The bloody church of england --
In chains of history --
Requests your earthly presence at
The vicarage for tea.
And the graven image you-know-who --
With his plastic crucifix --
He’s got him fixed --
Confuses me as to who and where and why --
As to how he gets his kicks.
Confessing to the endless sin --
The endless whining sounds.
You’ll be praying till next thursday to
All the gods that you can count.

For starters I think the "G" word is being used a little too much here. Let's forget the word even came up

As for the capitol punishment, the justice system is and always will be imperfect. Unless someday they figure out a way to record ones every movement, and the recordings being untamperable (I think I just made that word up ) by others. But then who controlls the controller? it never ends.

Should people be killed for their mistakes? No. Because, every person has slight defects, some more than others, which cannot be helped reguardless the person. Giving the spectrum of life.

Should the be allowed to relax and roam around prison/jail without punishment? No. Because some of them actually wanted that in the first place, and that is far too easy a punishment. We could go the route of OGTL, and torture them , or we could put them to good use. In my experiences, doing bad to others (reguardless if they deserved it or not) has always came back and bit me in the a$$.

And besides all of this. Why do we feel we have the right to decide who lives who dies, who smiles who cries, who has freedom who is imprisoned? Because we all have that little devil in us all that says "I'm right your wrong". Which in my opinion, is the very thing that keeps us from being virtually perfect.

Like I said many times before. Can not kill for the better. We don't chose who lives or dies. See in Canada they don't kill those who does the crime. I find it funny the USA is still doing it...I thought you were the Richest Contury let alone the must POWerful....Why do your Democrats let this happen? Are we not all brothers and sisters of God? I can't wait to see the day where there will be . There would be no more Wars.....But I think the world will never be perfect...until the final days when Jesus returns to the earth and takes those who belived and followed God's laws into Heaven. While others will stay on this earth. Read the bible the last book in the back it talks about it there.

I don't know about anyone else, but I prefer to not be lumped in the same catagory as murders and child molestors. (Which is what you are saying if we are all children/brother/sister of god).

Besides I'd hate to imagine how many more people would do horrible crimes if the thought of the death penalty wasn't there, looming over them.

The answer is: very little.

People sick enough to plan out a crime like that don't fear the consequences. Certainly rotting away in a cell is worse than death and the threat of that doesn't stop them.

And people committing crimes of passion aren't thinking about anything anyway.

I'd go a little further and say: not at all. I expect that 99% of people who commit murder are hoping to get away with it, so the thought of their punishment won't come into it. In actual fact homicide rates show that states with the death penalty actually have a higher rate of muder than those without.

Though I agree with you, I don't trust those statistics. You need history to go with it. Maybe the death penalty exists in those states because they already had very high homocide rates and it was an attempt to lower them.

I thought you were the Richest Contury let alone the must POWerful....

what does that have to do with anything?!

but the funny thing is, if there was NO religion, there would be NO war. religion = war. bottom line.

but the funny thing is, if there was NO religion, there would be NO war. religion = war. bottom line.

I don't think so. Wars are about POWer. Religion is used an an excuse. If there was no religion the POWer hungry would find another excuse.

true, that has alot to do with it. religion plays a huge part as well.

religion has a lot to do with it. Christianity was corrupted as an excuse to "take the Holy Land" in the crusades. Once a religion is corrupted, POWer tends to be veiled...

Then again, catholocism...?...catholacism...?...C-A-T-H-O-L-O-C-I-S-M... okay, I'll go with it. Catholocism in the middle ages was nothing corrupt.

Whether or not Hell is real (I don't dare to question that), the church started talking about it in order to charge money to release souls in purgatory... not to some of the creepier Popes that held POWer... Fortunately, its come a long way.

And by that I mean in a general sense, in regards to the overall beliefs and good individuals who follow it. Let's avoid the subject of the church hierarchy's immoral protection of pedophiles...

First off. Wouldn't you think the states would be the smartest? What I mean is the USA is one of the few developed nations left with this law still in POWer. I take back what I said before it was kind of harsh.

Last time I checked Jesus didn't come to this earth to bring wars with him. He ended Sin. But remember God gave us free will. There for Sin will always be there. But thats why Jesus is coming again if you don't belive me read here:

Will Jesus Return to Earth To Establish A Kingdom?

Everyone is talking about it. We are about to enter a new Millennium. What will happen? Is this the long awaited end of man’s existence on earth? Will Christ return to establish His Kingdom on earth? Will there be a so-called Rapture, a thousand year reign of Christ on earth, will the man of lawlessness finally be revealed? Will Christians escape the great tribulation? Everyone wants to know.

There are basically three views of the end times, Postmillennialism, Amillennialism, and Premillennialism. All three views hold in common that the Scriptures are the Word of God and are authoritative. Each believes that the death of Christ was the necessary sacrifice to satisfy divine justice and is the only ground for the salvation of man. Each believes that there will be a future coming of Christ. The differences between the three views relate primarily to the time and purpose of Christ’s coming and the kind of kingdom that is to be established at His coming.

The word millennium is derived from two Latin words, mille, meaning thousand, and annum, meaning year. Therefore the literal meaning of the word millennium is a thousand years. The prefixes Post-, A-, and Pre-, designate the particular view held regarding the thousand years.

Premillennialists take the word literally, holding that Christ returns to earth before he establishes His kingdom, which will continue for precisely one thousand years.

Postmillennialists and Amillennialists take the word figuratively as indicating an indefinitely long period of time in which Christ rules in his spiritual Kingdom.

Postmillennialists believe that Christ will return after the Millennium.

Amillennialists do not believe that there is a Millennium at all in the generally accepted sense of the term. Amillennialists and Postmillennialists both agree that the kingdom that Jesus had in mind was a spiritual kingdom, the church of Christ.

Tons more there just go ahead and read it. Like I stated before sorry for what I said about the states.

To get this back on topic, Karnov ownz n00bs.

Indeed, I'm ripping my DVD to my PC for decent quality now, and I'll be making a "Total Karnov Ownage" Part 3 to be placed in my signature.

Can't wait to see it.

that quote you posted basically tells someones opinion, and throws in a few definitions. that doesn't really mean anything about anything that was said.

but like i said before, we should just drop this religion thing all together. it doesn't belong in this topic (i'm sorry 'Newb for ruining your topic

Ruin away. I just want my survey answered. Fortunately, other members in my group are also asking the question, so I don't really need fifty answers.
As if I'd get that many.

are there even 50 members that post here regularly? i can think of maybe 10 off hand

So uber newb are you done your home work on this subject?

Not yet. My partners and I are going to meet up and continue the project this weekend.

It's on the Canterbury Tales, possibly one of the most dated and dull things I've had to read for school. And I somewhat enjoyed the Crucible, the Scarlet Letter, The Great Gatsby, and Lord of the Flies, so I'm not one to complain about ponderous books.

i'm reading lord of the flies in school right now. i had to take a test on it today.

oh god! we went over the Canterbury Tales last semester. i'm sorry to hear you too have to suffer through that nonsense

The stories are kind of interesting, so it shouldn't so bad.

But near the end of , SOMEONE will engage in a ten-page monologue about medieval ideals...
