London explosions

In Off-topic

So a bunch of bombs went off across London this morning, I think the latest count is 7. Mainly on the tube although one bus was blown up. The first explosion was just before 9a.m. which coincided with the start of the G8 summit in Scotland. More than just a coincidence I'm sure. Some people have connected it with London winning the bid to hold the Olympics yesterday but I don't think that has anything to do with it. This sort of attack would be planned a long time in advance. With all sorts of riots around the summit this week it feels like this country has erupted into violent chaos.

Edit: After the hysteria died down it has been established that there were actually 4 explosions.

Damn... That's some scary stuff dude. Was it close to where you live at?

Nowhere near where I live. I have a couple of friends who work in the centre of London but they both would have been at work by then.

I saw this at Yahoo. 37 died, and more than 700 injured. Its scary to think about it. It could happen anywhere.

I'm so sick of a few dumb people (terrorists) ruining stuff for everyone. I hate the fact that I can't even go to the airplane gate to greet my family members, that you basically get "felt" up just to get through security and that tons of people are dying for this "war on terror". It's sickening.
My friend was just in London a mere four days ago. It's a good thing he went back home to Iceland before the crap hit the fan over in London.

Thank god no of my friends was in London at the time.

I hope the dumbasses don't blow anything up next year at the soccer World Cup...

I've got an online friend of four years who lives in London. Me and him are in this online fantasy Pro Wrestling game...sorta like those fantasy Baseball, football things you see around. Anyways, him and a friend were at a McDonalds near the station where the first train got hit, actually ready to board the very train that was about to explode. His friend had bought three of those little cheeseburgers, ate two and was gonna leave the last one. As they were getting up...he decided to not waste it, and stood there finishing it up for the next minute or so. They then left and were walking to the station, got there and realized the train had just left, missed it by a minute or two. They both heard an explosion, then the police started showing up. They found out that indeed the train they just missed had been bombed. We have a miracle thread elsewhere....I think this qualifies.

OMG....that is a miracle. I'm very happy for your friends and yourself. Also, my brother posts on a different board (movie board). One of the users there went to there cousins house, and they were going to go take the train, but his cousin got grounded, so he (the user) decided to stay with him. Then they heard that the train was blown up....
