I was just wondering if when Dux and Jackson meet for the first time at the Hotel and are playing a game in the lobby. Is that Kung Fu they were playing?

As far as I remember it can't be the NES-Kung Fu, because that's a side-scroller, right?

But the game in the movie is a game where 2p play against each other. And the sprites look simpler in the movie than on the NES Kung-Fu.

If anybody finds out which game they're playing, let us know.

Those who haven't seen the movie, watch it. It's quite fun.

According to this web page it's a game called Karate Champ:

Cool, Roth!

I was looking for such a list quite a time (without success). Thanks for the link.

Although it didn't quite look like the Karate Champ, of which they have pics on vgmuseum...

I need to watch the movie again.

For all you Van Damme fans a movie called Kumite is supposed to be coming out either this year or 07 im ntoreally sure but i have heard specualtions of a cancellation?

Cool, I didn't hear of that until now.

I immediately checked (which should be your first address for movies) and found that:

That could become a nice movie. As I saw, Bolo Yeung is on the cast-list. He's so bad cool.
But in the discussion forums they say it's cancelled.

Yeah he wasnt going to return as Dux b/c apparently Van Damme didnt pay the real Frank Dux so much money for the first movie.

According to this web page it's a game called Karate Champ:

'Karate Champ' was one of the first ever "official" fighting games. It used a two joystick combination - one to move the player - one to execute fighting moves.
I believe there's a NES version of it.

Is this it?

Well in the movie it was just two fighters and the background was Mortal Combatish with people sitting down wierd in all white behind them.

I still haven't watched it again, but yeah... that's the NES version.

Here's the arcade version.

There might be some familiar images there.

The version in the movie didn't look that good.

Much more pixelish when I remember right. The graphics were quite primitive. (I have to watch that movie again...)

I have the movie here but the question is am I too lazy to Hook up my DVD or VHS player (im not sure what it is on). I own nealry all Van Damme movies
