N64

ARE U NUTS???? ) I like N64. I don't know bout you. Guess not.

Well, we all have our own opinions, so I'm not going to "knock" anyones, but I think that the N64 was the best system Nintendo has created. The games were so revoultionized from the SNES, and classic games like Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Banjo-Kazooie, Paper Mario. Such classics.

I just couldn't stand the games on there. I still feel the SNES was Nintendo's best system next to the NES. It had beautiful graphics, fantastic games, and an awesome super scope.

I always hated the N64 ever since it came out. Granted, there is no loading time, but it still didn't win over the Playstation.

WHA???? I don't agree with you, but you are entitled to your own opinion and different people like different things

I don't see how you could compare it to the Playstation, thats like comparing an apple (N64) over a steak (PS) and saying the steak is healthier.

N64 was a very POWerful system for it's time and to produce graphics from a cartridge like that was also pretty impressive, other systems were trying to use discs to improve and the saturn for example could not compete with N64's graphc output.

I will agree with you on some of the games, PS has been well known for producing promising and money's worth games. Aside from that, N64 still could deliver a lot for the average Nintendo fan.

If you want to know what makes Nintendo look any bit like a failure, please direct your attention to the nearest Game Cube, Nintendo got a bit lazy here and did not even bother with the competition, one of the only smart moves Miyamoto made was accepting the RE series.

I surely pray upon Revolution's success though.

I agree also that Nintendo sliped up with gamecube, but still had some really good games.

Allow me to direct YOUR attention to the Virtual Boy...

I fail to see how Nintendo was "lazy" with the cube... it's incredibly POWerful, and has some flat out awesome games. innovative controllers (DK Bongos, don't knock 'em until you try 'em)

I can't understand what you mean by the statement "did not even bother with the competition" they are very much a player in the current generation. the cost of the console has everything else beat, and many of the games are released on the 'Cube as well the other consoles.

Next, Miyamoto doesn't run Nintendo, he's a developer. likely the primary mind behind many of Nintendo's first party titles, but I doubt he had anything to do with the decision about RE.

He was just saying, that Gamecube did not have the same sales as X-Box, and Playstation 2. Also, I love the bongos. I just got Donkey Konga 2, and I love this game even more than the first game.

Interesting topic, toubabokoomi. I also am not a big fan of the N64. I was always left wondering why they stuck with cartridges as well. The smart move at the time was (and currently still is) disc-based (although after playing some DS games on the "thumbnails," there may be room yet).

I've always thought the graphics were sub-par as well. I've always been about the fun in the games, but I felt the graphics just weren't what they could've been. There are a couple of games that I like on the system, but nothing that ever made me say, "I NEED a 64!" As a matter of fact, there wasn't one in this household until my wife had put it on her birthday list.

I was definitely more into the PS when that was the "war between companies," so maybe I'm just biased with my opinion in the first place.

The N64 is the system I have been the most into. I I always that thought the graphics, in most games, were great. I always though that the PS had very fuzzy graphics. Also, the only games though I really liked for PS, was Chrono Cross, and the Final Fantasy's. O well, we all like something different.

I'm going to have to say the N64 had the best graphics of the generation, the PS just looked way too pixelated to do anything good in 3D

Honestly, I'm happy they stuck with carts, CDs ruin too easily...

N64 is okay.

But what is up with this!?

Seriously, what is it with the blatant OVERuse of the letter "" in everything?

Drug Free is great and all, but "XXX"? It's getting X-tremely out of hand.

I love the controller!

The X's represent Straight Edge. Not sure if you are familiar with it. Many people get it confused for Pr0n. Ha!

I thought it was a good idea to stay with carts until that console generation. No load times are better that a minute or two.

And to call it worst system ever... isn't that a bit too much? There were impressive games on it. Ocarina of Time. Some people call it the best video game ever created. And it probably is.
The system has its flaws, but that doesn't make it so bad.

yes quite
however x box is a piece of $h1t
if you want rainbow 6 tom clancy splinter cell hit man ect ect ect and get very bored ... there is always microsoft with their failure system
not to mention they´re crappy with computer s

i actually cant believe the appeal of x box , those games couldnt entertain a old school gamer for 3 minutes beatch
once again those games are the worst Qrap i have ever seen

Yeah, you're absolutely right. Morrowind couldn't keep any classic RPG gamer's attention for more than, oh I don't know, 80 hours. How horrible.

I think you'll find that most people around here like all sorts of gaming, and although we specialize in NES and other classic system collecting, it does not mean we shun newer forms of video games.

true i just hope microsoft doesnt cause nintendo´s demise

The only thing that will cause Nintendo's demise is their own way of doing business. They have to re-learn how to attract 3rd party developpers.

and end with the games you could look back upon with a smile on your

Aw, I liked it, for the same reason I liked the Genesis; the system had a unique personality to it.

Of course, the PSOne absolutely trashed it in the RPG department...
Then again, fewer RPGs means fewer piles, right?

currently whats hot on the xbox is war-some games
and the majority of what games on x box are realistic musrder/sniping games
thats quite a major part of what popularity it has
all im saying
wish the it had more to do with games like morrowind
but the general teen rave is things like unreal tournament
as there is nothing wrong with that - the extent of gracefulnessless games which makes the box sell so much unfortunatly

I think the Nintendo 64 rocks. It has what I think are the two best Zelda games ever (The Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask). Starfox 64, 007: Goldeneye. I could go on for 20 post w/ the great games it has. Also, no loading times like the PS1 had. And the #1 thing I would tell my rich friends who would brag about their PS1, N64 carts dont scratch! I've said it many times before and a few times here on NES Files:

N64 Rules. Though there is noticable slowdown in Goldeneye, particularly when in smoke and firing a RC-P980
