Which of these games are Must Buy?

In N64

My N64 collection is pretty tiny (5 games), so I am trying to complete my collection with all the “must own” games out there. I have figured out which are the top of the bunch (I will be buying Goldeneye, Banjo Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, etc). Below are the games that I need some help in deciding-please comment whether they are “must own” or not:

F-Zero X
Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
Star Fox 64
Shadowgate 64: Trial of the Four Towers
Banjo Tooie
Rush 2049
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
Body Harvest
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2
Resident Evil 2
Mischief Makers
Donkey Kong 64

Star Fox 64
Rush 2049
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

Those for sure! Some I haven't played, but these are all good choices. go for Star Wars episode one racer if you want the best racer on the system too.

me you have Mario 64. Also, check out Sin and Punishment.

Banjo Tooie
Resident Evil 2
Mischief Makers
Donkey Kong 64

Banjo Tooie is basically more Banjo Kazooie greatness

and I've heard that the N64 version of RE2 is far superior to the Playstation version. it's also the largest game that I know of on the console (512mbit)

Mishief Makers is rather odd (Shake shake...) but it's a Treasure game.

DK64 is awesomely long and fun.

I either haven't played the others, or didn't like them enough to recommend them.

Japanese only, so good luck checking it out... Though the region lock on the N64 is nothing more than some plastic tabs, and the game is rather english to play... Sadly it fetches quite a premium on ebay, which is the only place you'll find it.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
Star Fox 64
Rush 2049
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

that's a fine list. although THPS 2 is better on the PlayStation. Castlevania LoD is a great game. i think most Castlevania fans overlook it. i had a blast when i played through it. it's actually one of my favorite CVs. Rush is a good game, me and my friend would rent it just about every weekend

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness - Yes, it's a good game, but the main flaw is how the platforming is handled on some parts. Some of the angles are weird. Still a fun game.

Shadowgate 64: Trial of the Four Towers - Never played it, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron - A bit akward, but it's Star Wars. I've had fun with nearly every Star Wars game I've played.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - Better on the PS.

Resident Evil 2 - Better on the PS, I don't know where you heard that at Luke, but when I used to own it I was angry that I did. It looks absolutely horrible.

Donkey Kong 64 - Never played it, but it has Donkey Kong in it. Such a cool old school character.

What?? If I just had knewn that 4 months ago!
That game, Sin and Punishment was there in a shop I went 2,3 times a week. It was complete in very good condition and only cost 680Yen.

On the topic:
I don't know the game Rush 2049, but all the others seem to be quite good.
Games from the list beacause of personal interest:
F-Zero X
Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness
Shadowgate 64: Trial of the Four Towers
Banjo Tooie
Donkey Kong 64

Yes, Mario 64 is one that I own, as well as the Zelda's. I won't be getting any Japanese only releases unfortunately. I'm not that hardcore.

Which games were the ones that you played, but wouldn't recommend. I'm interested in positive or negative comments.

A few general comments on the games I mentioned:
F-Zero X
I despise the SNES version these days, but I liked what I saw when a friend was playing the N64 version.

Shadowgate 64: Trial of the Four Towers
I've seen low reviews on this one, but I was such a fan of the NES Games (Shadowgate & uninvited).

Rush 2049
It appeared to me that Rush 2049 is better than Rush 2... is this a correct assumption?

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron
I have the gamecube version, so I'll likely stick with that one.

Resident Evil 2
I would have the option of getting RE for the cube, so I'm not sure if I'd still need an N64 version of the game.

Donkey Kong 64
I'm waiting to see if I like Banjo-Kazooie, since this is a similar game style.

Japanese only, so good luck checking it out... Though the region lock on the N64 is nothing more than some plastic tabs, and the game is rather english to play... Sadly it fetches quite a premium on ebay, which is the only place you'll find it.

Conkers Bad Fur Day is also 512mbit (64MB)

Donkey Kong 64 is an awesome game, just make sure you have an expansion pack.

Banjo-Tooie is definitely a must have because not only does it have an extensive adventure mode it also has MULTIPLAYER.

Rush 2049 is the only game in the Rush series that I havent played, the other 2 are really fun so I assume that one is also.

Tony Hawk 2 is only a must have if you like skateboarding, THPS3 was much better. I my self like all of them.

Also I would check out my favorite games on the N64:
1080 Snowboardong
Army Men Sarges Heroes 1,2
Mario Golf
Mario Kart
Mario Tennis
Mario Party
Excitebike 64
Smash Brothers
Battle Tanx Global Assult
Mortal Kombat Trilogy
Wave Race
Diddy Kong Racing
Cruisin USA
Cruisin World
Cruisin Exotica
Road Rash

There are a whole lot more great games on the N64 so just get as many as you can.

Conkers Bad Fur Day is also 512mbit (64MB)

That being another one I want pretty bad, if I can find it for less than $30...

Its a shame that I only had $100 to spend when my Gamecrazy had a sale called "Classic Plastic Deal". Any 3 carts for any system for $15. I got $90 worth of N64 games then, one of them being Conkers. There was another copy of that on the shelf along with other games worth more than $5 dollars like Megaman 64 and Majoras Mask.

Anyway a long story short is I wanted to buy out there N64 games and sell them for $10 each but as usual due to insufficient funds I couldn't. If I see a copy around here I'll pick it up.

i used to have Conker's Bad Fur Day. my cousin gave it to me for free, and i think i traded it to a friend for F-Zero or StarFox.

I always saw it at the rental place, and wondered why it had a rating.

So you never played it?

are we forgetting mario kart? legend of Zelda? Star Wars episode one racer? golden eye? perfect dark? jedi force?...

my mistake, i thought we were giving recommendations on games to own.

also, i dont know if a thread was made, but if someone could point me out to a link that has a list of n64 games that are just a blast to play

Just get Forsaken 64. Good fun.
