Super Mario 64 beaten in under 21 minutes

In N64

Check this video out. Some guy manages to beat Super Mario 64 in under 21 minutes using a variety of glitches, tricks and other time-saving tactics to beat the game. I never thought it was possible to get up those stairs which led to the last Bowser unless you had 70 stars but he managed it.

This guy is a true pro.

Sounds strange. I'm watching it right now. I'm about 2 mins into it.

WOW. Im at about 70 stars now in my new game, and it has taken me a few hours. i cant believe in beating it that quick! ill check it out.

I really got to try what he does with the rabbit, and on the serect slide.

Oh My God....I just finished it. Its crazy how he gets the doors to unlock by hopping on his a$$ up the stairs... This guys amazing. he must have planned out that for a while

That's definately rad. I was so awful at that game. But kudos to her/him.

I didn't watch it through the end, and I hate to be a negative guy, but there isn't a running score or much unique going on, so a save state and video editing isn't out of the question. but that doesn't matter.

i'm impressed either way.

often times these speed runs are done just that way, which doesn't deserve much credit other than for video editing skills. but anyone can do that with enough time on their hands.

That said, I'm not sure it's emulated, which would rule out save states. it looks pretty true to the hardware.

On closer inspection, the explosions from bowser hitting the bombs don't look true to hardware, it may be emulated. it's hard to tell with such low quality video.

I saw that some months ago and I must say it's impressing, no matter if it's fake or not.
But I won't try it. When I play the game I want to enjoy it. And getting 70 stars isn't so difficult either.

Yea, but the real task is getting 120 stars on all your files.
Anyways, I tried that thing he did on the serect slide, and it worked out! I finished the slide under 15 seconds . Next is trying the rabbit thing, but I doubt it would work...

I don't see why it wouldn't work, it's a pretty common trick to go through walls by using another object to push yourself through. I've done it in several games, with mixed results.

That guy showed me tricks, that I never even could think about on my own, although I've beaten the game and I've got all the 120 stars, but I want to try all the tricks he did! That was really cool!

Of course I've got 120 stars, that's piece of cake.

I really have to get Mario 64 for the DS...

Yes you should. I was really into it, but i stopped (I think at 117) because I've got 120 stars so many times on my N64 game.

Not really, just beat the game with 120 stars and copy the rest

You cheater! jk.

That was pretty cool. What I thought was questionable was how he did the flying jump every where he went and did not fall off a ledge.

Well, I fly jump a lot, and I really don't fall much. I guess, you get use to it, if you beat the game 4 times.

Yeah, that's all a matter of exercise.

Play until you know every level like your pocket, and you'll hardly fall down.

That was awsome!!

That was really insane, especially near the end. I knew about the slide trick, I remember reading about in a Nintendo magazine when the game had just been released. That Rabbit trick, i'm going to have to try that out.

I tried the rabbit trick, but I couldn't do it. I'll try again some other time.

What is the flying jump? Do you mean the one where you run, tap Z then A? The long jump? If so, i lose that ALOT too, and my dad started to get annoyed at the YAHOO!..YAHOOO

Yea. The long jump. My dad plain out didn't like the game. He said, "What happened to my 2D plumer."

I HAVE to know how he slid up the stairs like that! I've been trying it. Run up them a bit, turn around, long jump, hold the other way and long jump up the stairs backwards, it won't work! If anyone has any ideas, I GOTTA know!

EDIT: Nevermind about the stairs, I found it.

It is NOT as easy as it looks. I got it to work though. I have to try the bunny glitch.
