The Return of Banjo & Kazooie.

In Modern Systems

Back when the Nintendo 64 was struggling to stay afloat, Rare was almost single-handedly keeping the console alive with a string of quality titles like Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Banjo-Kazooie. The latter, considered by many to be the epitome of 3D platforming, is being dusted off and readied for a comeback on the Xbox 360.

Rare is reuniting Banjo the bear, Kazooie the bird-thing, the evil witch Gruntilda, and other fan-favorite characters from the series and giving them high-definition makeovers. Though most of the original team has moved on from Rare, the company is aiming to retain the series sense of humor and charm.

This will be the third proper installment in the series. The original Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie were N64 titles, but the duo has also made appearances on the Game Boy Advance and wireless phones.

Very good news! Another reason why I need to get a 360 some day.

Yes, I saw a teser trailer yesterday. This game is probably the reason I'll get a 360 when I can afford it. The first 2 games are (to me) some of the best games ever.

Now I am stuck, I have been waiting for Banjo-Threeie for awhile..And when I saw this I was full of joy! Now this is getting harder and harder to choose:

Wii

or

360

Next-Gen kind of like what I did this Gen was get one system I like and stay with it, I choose GCN. Now I think I may lean towards the 360. Besides, Luke and Nes-Master who else has a 360 on Nesfiles?

I think I will wait until the game comes out, and see what its like, and maybe find a way to play it (beside demos). I just don't see myself spending 300 dollars for 1 game. Atleast I don't have to see any gameplay yet to make me want it.

Deciding which console to buy over 1 old title on XBL (or VC) is odd somehow. And buying a console for just 1 game?

I have both Banjo games on the N64, so I wouldn't get those again. Especially since I couldn't get so much into Banjo-Tooie. That game (and it's controls) is a bit too overloaded for me (way too much stuff to collect,...). I might try it again, when I have more free time again, though.

I wonder how much they will charge for it?
I mean even the technically not so impressing "Doom" will cost a whole 800 points I heard. Banjo games should be still more expensive than that.

I think you misunderstand...

This is a NEW Banjo game, Not just the N64 titles on Xbox Live...

I think Doom is worth the 800 points, it plays really well with the controller, and Xbox Live deathmatch should be good fun.

I misread that really...
I think five minutes before reading this I read somewhere else (joystiq?... don't remember...) that the old Banjo titles would be on XBL...

Then the thing is a bit different.
Will they call it Banjo-Threeie now?

But still, I don't think there's a single game that justifies buying a 400$ (or even 200$) console. If there's now 10-20 really good games, then it's worth grabbing that console. (these are my standards only...)

BTW, is 800 points a normal price for XBL games?
That's around 10US$, right?
N64 games on VC will be 10$, too, so the pricing seems similar in XBL and Wii's VC.
And if you say 800 points is ok, then maybe it isn't that bad. (Still I hoped for a bit cheaper prices...)

Many are 800, many are 400, from what I can tell it's split about 50/50

800 is around $10 US But many of the games on there are great fun and well worth it.

The problem with Nintendo charging $10 for their N64 games in that they're old, everyone has already played them to death. It's much harder to justify the purchase.
