Good PS One Games

In Modern Systems

Hey, I grew up in the when the N64 and PS one reigned the video game world. However, i had only been gaming on the N64 until a couple of years ago when i bought a small version two ps1. I enjoy games like Zelda ooT, All of the harvest moon series, and games such as that. i like those games that you just get swept up in, and cant stop playing them. and was wondering if you guys could reccomend some Good RPG type games, other than the FF series.

Well, Suikoden, and Suikoden II are amazing RPGs, but cost a lot of money. Other amazing RPGs, that don't cost much are Chrono Cross, and the Legend of Dragoon.

Dragon Warrior 7 is an excellent RPG for PS1: over 100 hours of game play, fully animated monsters in battle, 160 jobs to master and hundreds of abilities to learn!.

Lunar 1 & 2
Breath of Fire 3
Xenogears
Dragon Warrior 7
Grandia
Legend of Mana (much awsomeness IMO)
Final Fantasy Origins (I know, I know but I had to plug it just in case you were talking about those other post FF7 games )

I thought Chrono Cross was way too slow, but then I'm an action gamer at heart. It did have a cool story even if it didn't make much sense half the time. For a decent action RPG you could try Brave Fencer Musashi. And if you don't already have Castlevania: Symphony of the Night then get it. It may not be an RPG but it still sucks you in.

Dragon Quest 7 or course.
And Houshin Engi... I don't know whether this is the English title... I have the Japanese one.
Breath of Fire 3, Legend of Mana.

Final Fantasy chronicles.
ANd other stuff posted above.

Thanks, ill look for these titles next time i go out. Legend of mana sounds good, i didnt even know that SoM had a other title. 'cause i really remember enjoying secret of mana.

I don't know if you're into the Castlevania series, but since you're into Zelda, I'll guess that you MIGHT be into it. Even if you aren't Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a great game. It has RPG elements such as getting stronger through attributes and the like. Castlevania Chronicles is cool too, with unlockables of artwork and such. It's more old-school CV oriented.

I see the Suikodens were already mentioned... those are my favorite RPGs of all time! Those are must plays!

I'm looking into buying the first one, and then I the second one, I want to get for Christmas.

I only have Castlevania II: Simons quest for my nes, and like it, especially the music. ive only played a bit on CV 64. sounds good...

You should play more of the CV for the N64. It is a great game. Also, Simons Quest does have the best music out of the first 3 games.

Castlevania III and 4 and Symphony were my faves.

FF7 enough said.

Final Fantasy 7 and Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Must haves. They never put either game out on any other platform, so if you've got any Playstation, pick these up. Castlevania releases on N64 were disappointments, IMO.

How about Intelligent Cube but i think it's kinda rare

Oh wow, I forgot all about Intelligent Cube... My wife liked that game I think. I'm pretty sure we owned it at one point, or had a demo of it. I don't think I was very good at it, but I did think it was quite different from other games I had played.

sounds odd. Whats the story behind it? sounds almost like a puzzle game.

I know I've said this a million times but

PARASITE EVE

Has anyone else played this game? I found the story and beautiful cut scenes (at least at the time) very cool.

Parasite Eve! Man, I'm going down memory lane here Yeah, I've played that, but not all the way through. It's a very cool game. The whole beginning sequence at the opera house was crazy!

yes its , what i used to think was the Second Silent hill, but thats was dfor like 3 minutes, so i thought wait a, this isnt even in SIlent Hill, and there isnt a piss yer Pants world.

a good PS1 game is OddWorld ABes Oddysee, and Exoddus, they're both pretty fun actually.

Not an RPG but you gotta get Metal Gear Solid. All the other good games I know have been mentioned.

Lets see. Xenogears,Sukoden 1 and 2. FF7, FF anthologies, FF origins witch i still need to beat, Resident evil 2, 3. and man so many to name..cant think right now.

A game I found fun and interesting was the Monster Rancher series

i picked up Xenogears a while ago. good game. pulled me right into the story.

If you're into 3rd person shooters, get C12: Final Resistance. You won't be sorry!

Oh! Speaking of FPSs... I'm not really a big fan of them, but there are some that I like. The first FPS I ever played through was Dark Forces. If you're into Star Wars, this game is the cream of the crop for FPSs. I think I've been through the whole thing three different times. It's one of my favorites, and I hope to find it again soon... as a matter of fact...

*heads to eBay*

how about the odd world games(have i aleady mentioned these?)

i dunno but i also like Wild Arms!

For f***s sake, somebody mention Legend Of Dragoon. I mean, am I the only person who remembers it? That game needs more recognition.

i remember it alot i could get about ten from Game Exchange.
