NES Alarm Clock

In Hardware

Kinda neat little hack if you have a dead system laying around.

Let the dead rest in peace...

and be aware that this was already posted.

Somewhere in the middle where it says "Custom NES alarm clock" (post by Uber Newb)

Pfff, my bad. It was recently resurrected.

It's a neat idea. NES-Luke didn't like it, because it was a clock put into an NES.

He had a point. Maybe one of us should do this, but put more modifications into it.

That's why I didn't close the thread.
Maybe somebody comes up with a nice idea for a NES clock which is even nicer.

You could put an alarm clock in the NES and still have it playable .

This way when you are playing for hours at a time, all you have to do is look at your NES and you can see if you are late for anything.

I just started the NES T.V. remote mod....... It is not as easy as it looks. I was gonna put in a remote that had learning capabilities, but I couldn't find one small enough .

If the kid that built the original one actually got around to finishing the second half of the project he mentions, it would be a cool project.

He wants to be able to make it so you can set the clock with a controller. THEN it's almost a full-blown hardware hack.

Check out.

Actually a mod.

Closer, but still nothing special. All he'd be doing is piggybacking buttons, removing the encoder chip from the NES controller, and resoldering wires directly to the traces on the PCB of the controller so that each button press was an on/off circuit, no encoding.
