This may sound stupid, but how do you use a game geine?(NES)

In Hardware

I got one, but I just can't seem how to put it in right.

Okay, first, insert the game you want to play securely into the open slot of the Game Genie. Then, stick in the entire Contraption (you won't be able to close the lid). It should work,if it does you'll see a menu with a finger thing. If not, treat it like any NES game in cleaning.

Oh yeah, one more thing, if you manage to collect a few Game Genies, you can stack em and have even more codes. Quite a fun deal, lemme tell ya.

It doesn't work...so I'm going to go look for a 72 pin-conector thing. I would take a part my NES, and clean it, but I'm scarded I would break it.

You're going to have to take apart your NES if you want to install a new 72 pin connector.

Not only that, but dissecting an NES is child's play. Unless you're universalizing it, the hardware is extremely resiliant to abuse. A suggestion that no one ever makes, always, ALWAYS check that the lower lip of the black plastic cart holder is underneath the board. I owe a few explicitives to forgetting this.

be sure the game is inserted with the label facing upward, as is normal, and the black "handle" on the Genie should also be facing up.

sometimes the Genie really needs to be shoved in there too, so grab the back of the console, and press it in. there's a line on the "handle" of the Genie that should line up with the door of the NES when it's closed and resting on the cart.

Hmm...I'll try what NES-Luke said, but if that doesn't work, I going to try to take my NES a part. (the one that broke) As a test run.

Edit:I did what Luke said, and it worked! . 10 of my games that use to not work, now work! Including Megaman 6, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Wolverine!
