Custom Console

In Hardware

I stumbled across this: somwhere, it looks pretty great for someone trying to learn 6502 assembly.

I've also seen mention of a Z80 and ARM7 on the page, but I'm not sure if those are optional CPUs or not.

If so it would be a good place to start for someone looking to learn to write NES Games, or GBA games, or original GB games. obviously the video would be different from those consoles, but they use the 6502 (2A03 actually) ARM7, and Z80 respectively.

Edit: I had the NES CPU wrong, I was listing the SID chip from the commodore as a CPU

I'm rather the man for game design, not so much programming.
But the demontrations on that page are very interesting.

Same here, i can drw/design stuff and even a story libne but programming is something i would have the patience nor the brain for ,nice page to see, looks nice.

I am quite serious about programming and problem solving ( The kinds done in ACM ICPC), but no good with game design.

But I thought, a good designer should be good in programming also to implement a design.
Or design just means giving a blue print and the programmer implements it?

Plain design and programming are so different. That's because there are designers AND programmers. There are people who are good at both, but others aren't.

That's something that I hope I'd be able to do... both in the future. I always have great ideas, but of course, no way to implement them. That is also, if I end up going towards gaming. Right now just learning enough programming to find a good paying job is what I'm working towards!

Good luck for this task.
