is paying $39.99CDN for a NES to much? at my local Pawn shop they have a Nes for $39.99CDN it comes with all the cables and I think two Joy pads. Well is this deal worth it or should I keep looking?

Well, if it works, then yes.

I asked the worker there if it worked she said yes its just dirty should they clean it first for me?

Well, you can clean it easily. If the guy/girl that wokred there doesn't know much about opening a NES, then I say do it yourself. I just opened my broken NES, and put a 72 pin in that I bent the pins on, and the NES works great. So, I'm sure you can get it working.

Just getting a working NES is hard enough these days, that seems reasonable to me

Thats too bad, i got my first nes with 7 games for 15 CAD, and my second with SMB for 5 CAD. I had to buy a new pin for the 5 dollar one though, so its more like 15 CAD.

i got my nes for AU$16 (aud isnt too far off cad iirc), it came with two controllers, but only one worked, the other controller and the console looked and smelled as if someone had gotten overly drunk off their head then puked over the whole lot. the outside of them was clean, but the inside of the controller was full of smelly brown sticky stuff, and what ever it was had had enough alcohol in it to melt the controller cable in one place. the console smelled a bit that way, but lacked the brown for the majority. anyway, one controller was clean, and after cleaning everything and bending the pins in the 72 pin connector i got it going ok. so one nes plus cables, and one controller was about $16. unless your nes is in ultra good condition, i'd pass and look for another.

It's a rip off IMO. 10-25 depending on condition. IMO I think you should find a "broken" one (one that is fiddly to load games with) and repair/replace the 72 pin connector. 10-15 bucks plus whatever it costs for the "broken" NES.

The best place to find an NES is thrift stores. I found an NES action set in great condition for $10 US

a pawn shop here sell em for 110 dollars canadian

Wow... where exactly is "here" ?

"here" is saskatoon ,saskatchewan, canada.Fuck the main game stores her charge 79.99 for a used nes with box.But ive found em for 10 -20 bucks.

A good way to find out would be to GO there and check. Most pawn shops do have those things, cause they are the only place to get cash for your games.

40 bucks, thats crazy!!

$40, far too much. I have bought 35+ nes systems and the only one that cost more than $40 was my toploader. all my toasters were under $20, and most of those under $5

You have 35 Nes Toasters? wow how long have you been collecting?

haah, heres 19 of em!

about 5 or so years. i've sold a few far and between, and have 28 right now, 29 if you count my toploader

heres a picture i took just for you

dont forget my 3rd boxed nes in this pic!

Wow your collection is amazing

Thank you

I do what i can with what i've got. Having no job really hinders what i can buy, and lately i even have had no ride to go looking for new stuff... about to change hopefully

I like my collection... but compared to some it's nothing. Being so young doesnt help either

Game on all!

Where the hell do you get your cash?

either selling stuff i buy, or christmas/birthday money. the occasional babysitting too

How old are you? if you don't mind me asking.

17... almost 18 (5 months from now)

i bought my Super Mario Bro. / Duckhunt for .29 Cents (usd)

and over here in bergen county, us 40 dollars is the price you pay around here if you can find em, i have like 6, lol everytime i find that someone i know has an old one i take it, working or not. lol

wow where do u guys get ur nes's i have founf the only nes ever at thats off my potheads buddies (lol mine soon )

I have 5
One i got from a freind with 10 games-$10
One from a yardsale with SMB -$5
One from another yardsale with 3 games, and a manual-$5
One from my freind for nothing
One complete and boxed control deck from my freind for jack shit all

The lower of doom. I love it

...I don't think its worth it.... but it might be too late for my opinion.
but if you go to yardsales you can find a better deal.
i buy the nes all the time at yardsales. in fact just alitte while ago i found a NES with 15 games the players guide and the cleaning cartage for $15 and sold it on ebay for $150 . so if you have the time you should stop by at your local yardsales.
