Can someone who knows German read this web page and let me know the gist of what it says? It's about Worms: Open Warfare for the DS and it's peaked my interest.

Thanks!

Worms? I suddenly want a DS...

is likely the best you're going to get until manuel finds the thread, and then I don't think he'll feel like translating a whole site.

The small worms rank among the completely large heroes of video game history. Which were for times, when one met with friends to only sink in order together a tidy portion of Worms to zocken and before laughter nearly in the sofa. Also today the 2D-Episoden of the Worms is considered as warranty to a tidy Multiplayer Gaudi. Only the last 3D-Ableger wanted to tear nobody in such a way from the stool. But thus conclusion should be, because Worms now: Open of throwing acres is announced for the Nintendo DS and the play principle takes place again in 2D!

The NDS version plays trumps with some spielerischen Leckereien, because the full Touchscreen support is certain. At present THQ plans release of Worms: Open of throwing acres for 17 March. Here we want to present you however four new Screenshots.

That was kind of funny to read, especially the parts were it was english, then a few words in german.

Oh, I didn't ask for a transcription, that would be unreasonable. I just wanted to know basic stuff, like if the game will be released in North America soon enough and other basic important stuff. Sorry for any confusion.

he said he wanted the gist of it.

I found a good translation on the SA forums. Here it is:

"The little worms are big heroes of videogame history. Oh the times when you met up with friends to just play a round of Worms and almost sink into your sofa from laughter. Even today the 2D-Episodes of Worms are a guarantee for loads of multiplayer-fun. Just the 3D offshoots were having trouble convincing people. But that's history now! Worms: Open Warfare has been announced for the DS and it's going back to its old 2D glory.

There's a Nintendo WiFi symbol missing on the cover art though...let's hope that's just a mock-up cover.

Couldn't resist...

I approve.

Sorry for being so late, but I'm quite busy these days.

The google and bablefish translations were better than I thought.
The text doesn't contain too much info, just that it has many features involving the touch screen...

It doesn't say anything about North American releases, only that it may be out on March 17th in Germany. But I don't know a game which would come out here but not in the US.

ive never played Worms are any of them any good.

(sorry had to do that)

It's a lot better than Lemmings. Anything since Worms: Armageddon, that is. Sure it's 2D landscape and such, but the detail is actually pretty high and the art style is really nice.

Just like BJG, except with a gasp:

Worms is a very good game! I had Worms World party and I had a blast Playing in the Internet (or LAN, or whatever) I look forward for that DS game coming out in North America

Worms... I had the original computer game, a while back... damn, it was addictive. Besides, it had that wonderfully sadistic sense of humor.
Which wasn't enough to save the Game Boy Color version.
