Nintendo Plans Band Brothers Expansion
Update to ship on Game Boy Advance cartridge.
by Anoop Gantayat
July 4, 2005 - Nintendo will be putting the DS's Game Boy Advance slot to good use for an upcoming expansion pack for Band Brothers. Tentatively titled Band Brothers Zouka Kyoku Cartridge ("Band Brothers Additional Song Cartridge"), the expansion will feature 20 additional songs and will ship on a Game Boy Advance cartridge. To access the added songs, you'll have to have both the GBA cartridge and the original DS game card loaded in your system.

The new songs are being selected with the help of Nintendo's fan base. Those interested in selecting a song for inclusion with the game can access Nintendo's website and cast their vote. The voting takes place until 8/1 and is for Japan-based readers only (or those who can input Japanese characters, at least). Those who vote will be entered into a campaign to win one of 100 free copies of the expansion pack.
The expansion pack is scheduled for Japanese release on 8/22. Meanwhile, we're still waiting for a stateside release of the original Band Brothers under the name Jam with the Band. The game is set for release some time this year.

That's cool.
I hope they use such expansions well also with other coming games.

me to! maybe it will work with M&L2!

does the DS play GBA games?

yeah, the games play on the bottom touch screen when a GBA cartridge is loaded, i believe.

hmmm.... somehow I missed this topic before.

Yeah, you can play GBA games on the DS. It's not just on the bottom though, I believe you can select which screen you want the game to appear on in the settings.

Anybody got any updated info on this "Band Brothers" deal?
