Weird Gaming Moments

In General Gaming

Have you ever noticed elements in games that were odd? Gameplay elements, items, scenarios, or cinemas that just didn't make any sense, or were so bizarre that they were funny?

For example, in Thief: Deadly Shadows for Xbox... if you broke a crate in the game, any nearby pedestrians would absolutely spazz. They would start running around and screaming, begging for their lives... because you broke a box open.

Or in Vampire Night, for the PS2. Once you beat the game once in special mode, you could purchase a different hairstyle for the irritating girl that followed you around. And it was expensive, too.

That was it. It didn't do anything. You just... changed her hair. For some reason.

NES Maniac Mansion was full of weird moments. Microwaveable hamsters?! Weird Ed? Every time I play that game, I wonder what was going through the heads of the designers.

drugs.

i watched my cousin play the begining Kingdom Hearts and it made no sense to me. something about an island or something? it seemed pretty stupid.

What?! That game is so cool that I'm considering starting a religion based on it...

I can see it now, it'll end up in the WTF article of the week thread.

Which game? Kingdom Hearts or Maniac Mansion? In the case of Kingdom Hearts, I shall have to agree with you. That was the most original recent game I've seen in a long time. I can't wait until I can afford #2.

Make a lot more sense if you watch beyond the first 11 seconds...

This isn't a werid moment in a game, but it was a glitch in a game. My brother and I were playing Metroid for the NES, and it wasn't working properly, but I pressed start, and instead of saying continue, it said "ovaries". It was really weird it was funny.

Also, in Metal Gear Solid 3, when Ocelot meows/roars like cat.

Anyone remember on Conker's BFD where Conker would piss on his enemies i don't think i have ever seen another game where you could do that.

Conkers Bad Fur Day... We could go on forever about that game... I still crack up whenever anyone even mentions "teddy bastards". I mean, damn, that was just.

Postal 2, possibly Postal 1, but I haven't played it.

more like 11 minutes....

Maniac Mansion was really weird...
Hamster in the microwave...

Apart from that I find it weird in many 1st person shooters and/or survival horror games and/or RPGs that you can't just break lousy wooden doors, but have to find keys for it. But I think that's again another problem of inside-game environment...

Or, when someone is trapped in a house in early survivor horrors, no one thinks to break open a freaking window.

Weird.

I also agree with the Maniac Mansion thing.

I barely remember playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for NES, and while I was in the sewer, I got this massive ball of squares (you know like when the game messes up) and I could use it as a weapon. This wasn't a one time thing.. I remember showing some of my friends it. Am I just crazy and dillusional?
