We might cut down the wasted topics/posts if people actually read the topic they are posting in. This is the NES Files Feedback.

My only question is: Is there a closing date for posting our scores (end of the week) or does each challenge carry on indefinitely?

It seems like a good idea. I think the challenges should last for a week maybe, and then move onto the next game.

Congraduration Captain Illiterate...

Now, for someone who can read the title, or first post...

Scores will be due one week after the challenge was issued.

all apologies obviosly i didnt read the title correctly

anyway my excuse is its late and hot and i cant sleep and i probubly should be sleeping but i cant.

sorry again

This sounds like fun!! So all we do is take a screenshot of our highscore and post it (in the correct thread of course)?? Could there be a vote to select a new game or will it just be chose by one person?? I see the first is an Atari game but will others be NES or Genesis??

By the way I hope everyone is prepared for my total ownage in these games .

The games will be selected by the moderators... for now. If we feel like we're running dry, we'll let everyone know. And yes, there will be other platform challenges

I like the idea, a lot. I don't stand much of a chance, though...

I'm in the same boat.

Well, it's still fun.

I'll try all the challenges, even if I will (or do) suck at them

I like the idea, only if I don't enjoy the game that's being played, I simply won't bother to compete.

Is there a prize, besides bragging rights (which is still a swell prize)?

Is a "league" table going to be implemented?
i.e winner gets points.
2nd place gets points.

That Sounds like a great Idea!

I love the whole idea about Challenges and Such.

If every week there's a new challenge, what day does the next challenge start?

This one was issued on Wednesday, so the plan is that the new one will take place on Wednesday as long as nothing interferes.

Ok! Great! I come out early from school every Wednesday! I have tons of time!

I will participate on the basis that I think I'm the best gamer here.

Word.

Could there be some kind of "leaderboard" (perhaps on the first post of the main ) that lists who the winner was for what game and his/her score/time/etc.? Then update the post every time a new challenge is made.
Just so it will be easier to keep track of who has won and how many titles they hold.
(Of course I say this because I have won a few times and really crave attention).

...

The next challenge should be something 'Tetris' related ( or something).

Or maybe a .
!!!

You? Crave attention?? Never noticed......

Actually, I consider myself more of an "attention gigolo".

You dig?

*BUMP*

Time for a challenge this week??? I never got my chance to shine .

I was bugging Roth about posting a new challenge. Perhaps something "puzzle related" so anyone can compete.

It seemed like quite a few of us like to challenge each other. We really need a new one.
(Then again, I like having my own unique custom user title for a month straight. )

Puyo Puyo!

It also would be cool to do a Game n' Watch Gallery challenge.

how about we do some more Nes, you know becasue were the NEsfiles.
and it should be Tetris or something like Pinball, or Contra, or something funner,

Puyo Puyo NES (or, rather, Famicom).

oh my bad.

Tetris does need one.

Is it safe to say that the NES Files Challenges have died? I thought the whole idea and setup was great (except for the part where ZEN would win ).

I think it's save to say Luke's a lazy bastard
But yes, i'd like to see a new one up, I like being a spectator to the friendly competition.

I hope we get a game going soon. I only wish I had a digital camera so I didn't have to use those darn EMU's.

The challenge isn't dead... let's say it's under construction to make it still more interesting.

I'd say that that comment is more interesting unto itself.

That make any sense at all?

I never really liked playing on EMUs.

Don't forget Roth too. Yes, you are lazy as well Mr. ninja barbarian fuzzy manthing. Yeah that's right... I went !

Really? That was my favorite part.

Exactly what I thought in the first place.

I much prefer Ostriches. Or is it Ostri?
Anyway, a new challenge would be nice, although I dare say i'm going to lose. Unless it's Tetris.....
Maybe we could have a race round the world on penny farthings. A true challenge indeed.

*BUMP*...................

YAY gunstar heroes.

It requires you to beat an entire game?
Well, as long as it's a good one, there won't be any complaints.

I really liked the "quick and dirty" challenges though.

But you can't expect a great prize for some quick game.
Beating a whole game is the least you shoukd do for winning

Is the prize a copy of the game by any chance?
I'll give it a bash, especially as it is such a good game. I may even do not as badly as usual.

Maybe...

"It's a year's supply of meat products!"

Yous should get that reference.

I guess I'm not 54554FR455 enough to understand

Smash TV!!!!!

Okay, I'm pretty much putting an end to the "crown members" thing right now. It just seems like too much of a hassle. Now I guess we could treat these challenges as more of a game of the week thing. I kind of wanted to avoid that, since it's on every other forum out there... but Rabidshark had suggested it some time ago, and there was some interest in it.

Basically what I'm asking is this:

Would you like to take turns between members picking games every week or two, or would you rather the mods keep picking the games? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I think I should ask.

I kind of think it should be split between the mods & the members. The mods think up great challenges (Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, difficulty-wise, was a fantastic choice). But members should be given a choice sometimes, too, as maybe some members only have a certain console they would like to see a challenge on, and don't get the whole emulator/ROM thing (I know I didn't understand it for the longest time).

I think whoever wins the challenge should get to choose the next game as a prize. That includes mods. Therefore, everybody wins. Those who participate are actively rewarded, and continue to participate. Hopefully, it would also encourage a wide variety off games suggested.

I DEMAND A NEW CHALLENGE!

(Even if I'm the only one still here.)

I'm game!
