NES on the GBA

In Games

has anyone gotten any of the NES series games for there GBA?

It would be nice to have some NES Games on my GBA, but I think they're are a bit of a rip off considering you can get the original NES carts much cheaper.

i guess so... but im probably going to get Castlevania for my GBA of the original NES series

Somebody who is thinking the same as me.
I feel the games are a bit too expensive. Especially here in Germany. I don't want to pay 20 Euro (26$!!!) for such old games. I'd rather get the original somewhere for 12 or so.
In Japan the prices are good. Some shops sell them for about 1800Yen (18$).

woah. how do japanese people tranfer 1800 yen to 18 dollars? thats crazy.

Exactly. It seems to me like they are just playing off of the success of the NES and trying to re-sell the games.

but they are probably making a lot of money off of it though. if people cant find the originals, or if they do not own a nes. and if they are to impatient to have stuff shipped to them, or if they are to young and their parents wont do it. but fortunately for me, i have a nes and a gamestop nearby that sells nes stuff

No doubt. I wonder how many times they're going to re-release the Mario and Zelda games over and over. Take Super Mario 1. First there was the original, then All Stars version, then Gameboy Color, now GBA. Is it in Animal Crossing too? I know you could get it as some sort of promotion in the Japanese Animal Crossing.

Thing is, although all these re-releases seem lazy, if it gives Nintendo more money to carry on making innovative new games and systems like the DS then it's a good thing in my mind. After all, todays new games are the re-releases of tomorrow. Windwaker on DS2 anyone?

i see what your saying. they did re-release it a lot of times. now that i stop and look at it... but yes, you can get mario 1 in animal crossing with an action replay max

ive played Super Mario Bros. 3 for the gba and its actually worth the monewy its great better grapics and more

As long as people buy that re-releases, it's good for Nintendo.
Nobody forces people to buy those. People buy it because they love the games. That's ok for me.

i guess your right about it being good for nintendo, but i actually enjoy the OLD graphics. thats the one major thing i hate about re-releases, is the graphical change. (and i have smb3 for my GBA also, its alright, but i prefer the one for the nes)

That's a true thing!
I don't want graphical changes in the classics!
At least, they should implement a version with the old graphics and a version with better graphics on the same cart.

yah, that would make it better, so people could choose what they want to play.

for the size of them I don't see why that's a problem at all... in fact, there is probably huge amounts of space going to waste on those carts... the original SMB is something like 50Kbytes, I don't think there are NES ROM chips that small anymore...

Maybe we should write some petitions to Nintendo to do so.

yah, i guess they would be able to, maybe they're to lazy

But if there is a company that would do such things like listening to customers' wishes, then this must be Nintendo.
I really think they would at least consider it... perhaps.

i'll do it, but they probably wont read the mail. just think of how many people send nintendo mail per day.

They get tons of mail.
I don't know how it it today, but about 10 years before the answered every letter you sent them! (I often wrote to Nintendo of Europe)
I sent lots of letters to NoA too and they also replied to every single letter! That's what I call customer serVice!

I think they at least read every mail and probably also reply to every mail. Just try it.

but you say it will be 10 years before they answer me? that is long. do you think they will reply faster by mail or via email?

No no!!!
It doesn't take 10 years!

They always took about 1 week or 2. Sometimes only 3 or 4 days. Man, they were fast!

I'm talking about times, where there was no e-mail... (Oh, I'm feeling that I get older...)

oh, cool
do you happen to know nintendo of america's mailing address?

cool, thanks. i will get on that. i guess i'll tell them about the graphic idea... i also have some game ideas i can pitch to them, (maybe they will accept them, probly not though)

If they are mean, they say they don't accept it and put it in their games without your knowledge.
But... Nintendo won't steal ideas. Great company.

I wouldn't say that Nintendo wouldn't steal ideas. No matter how good a company may be, there are always bad seeds. Someone who works for them may see or hear an idea, and have the idea of getting a bonus in his head, or that raise he's been expecting. He gets an e-mail (or regular mail) that has an idea or concept, and BAM! Ah... now he gets his shot! It's a cruel world. If you have an idea that you are serious about, and I mean serious, I suggest you try and design it yourself, or copyright it. If you're not so serious and don't mind being left out of the loop after submitting your idea, go for it. Chances are, they will just toss it out with junk mail and send a pre-fabricated letter thanking you for interest in their product. Never tried myself, though, so you never know...

true roth, true. but as a whole, it is a good company.
btw, how much money would i make if i had an idea they liked? (about how much)
