New Guy Here in the emerging hobby of NES collecting...

In Games

Hello everyone!
25, Florida here.
Really excited to be a part of the board! For the longest time, I thought I was the only NES collector out there until I started taking the collecting a little more seriously and googled some NES information.
I recently met my first "In Real Life" NES/Vintage game collector by chance, and realized that we are probably on the edge of a fastly emerging hobby.

It seems whenever people turn a certain age (25-35 or somewhere in between), they start seeking out to buy nostalgic parts of childhood or teenage years... I believe that collecting NES Games will become something far more common in years to come. We've seen it before with Barbie Dolls and Baseball cards- NES Games will be no exception, methinks.
While we can still haunt garage sales, swap meets, ebay and what not to find the occasional "score", I am guessing that in 3-5 years time, there will be more competing collectors of NES Games than there are available games to fill the demand. We are already starting to see it with some rarer titles, but I believe we will see the day soon when vintage game collecting will be a bonnafide "$4.95 monthly priceguide" hobby.

Anyway, that's my thoughts. I'm doing lots of buying while I still can for reasonable prices. I mainly buy NES Games to play them, so box and papers isn't too important, but if it's available to buy for reasonable, i'll sure pick it up!

Anyway, that's my long winded introduction.
Glad to be aboard!

Welcome to the board! That's a good take on it. I look forward to discussing NES collecting with you.

I agree that more and more people are starting to do it as they think back of those fond memories of their NES. but I don't think it'll get to the point of having a monthly guide dedicated to the NES. Perhaps to vintage games in general. But Digital Press already does something like that

Welcome dude, glad to see your thread,i guess i'm still the oldest around here, but maybe that wil change soon!Enjoy!

How old are you?
Please post in the "How old..." thread.
