In Emulators / NES ROMs

Well im sure thats quite a obvious question. Emulators EMULATE the NES, but is no equal substitute. The system ismuch better than a computer moniter.

BOTH!

You can order complete NES ROM discs for less than the cost of a DW IV cart, but that doesn't make me want the cart any less.

I didnt think he was talking about price. Just a scenario-type question

Another argument in favor of "emulated NES > real NES" is in the ability to "save". It helps with games that originally lacked that feature that were quite lengthy (Super Mario Bros. 3, Wizarda & Warriors III, M.C. Kids, Blaster Master).

I don't enjoy playing in front of a computer monitor though. For console gaming, I need to be sitting in front of the T.V. holding a control pad. Luckily my Dell Latitude notebook P.C. has TV-Out jacks, so when I do "emulate", it's done properly.

The system would be alot better than a NES ROM cause computers do all sorts of werid crap that could delete saved data in one of your games or somethin

Thanks to Z.E.N. All i do now for my emulation is use nesterDC, it feels as close to a real nes as could be. Great.

I personally would prefer the emulator and the ROM because of the following reasons:
I can get any available ROM in less than five minutes via the internet.
I can store all NES ROMs on one CD.
I can play the emulator on every computer without carrying around a game console.
I can make screenshots and videos.
I can save games at every point.
In my case the games looks better on the PC than on the TV screen.
I'm not limited to PAL games.
And I don't have to pay money for it anymore.

WAIT!?!?!?! YOU CAN VIDEOS WITH EMULATORS?!?!?!?!

Well, not MPG videos or something. They are video files that are to be played with the emulator itself. (Similar to the save state files. You can even stop the movie and play from that point on.)
But there is also an emulator that can record real AVI files. Its name is NNNesterJ.

i'd rather have the actual console and game.... emulators just don't feel the same

is it a crime that i rhyme?

Yes.

Anyway, system is better. Especially since my laptop went to hell in a handbasket right after I downloaded the ROMS for all three AD&D NES Games... serves me right.

Nothing can replace the real thing.
I could play all NES Games on my PC right now, but I'd rather get my NES out and Hook it up to the TV.
It just doesn't feel the same on the PC.
