New Emu...

In Emulators / NES ROMs

Now that I've completed my collection of NES ROMs I am starting on my SNES ROM collection and I need a better Emu...

I use Snes9x but I want to know if there is something better out there.
I'm thinking something on par with NES Emu NNNesterJ...

Any recommendations???

I second that, and there was a new version released on Christmas after a long period of inactivity. always was the best, and remains the best. you can even (finally!) run Street Fighter 2010 Alpha 2, and Star Ocean without the graphics packs.

Do you know if it runs Super Mario RPG smoother? On zsnes, it was really choppy.

I wouldn't know... I haven't tried that one. From my experience though sometimes emulators emulate a little too well, and even keep the slowdown and flicker in games... if you haven't tried it on the new release I'd suggest it... it was the first release in over a year and a lot was done.

I was always fond of SNES9x. It wirked always fine for me.
I tried ZSNES only one time, so I can't really tell what's better.

I agree with most you guys...

I tried ZNES and found it played NES ROMs poorly or not at all.
I wasn't fond of the UI either..

I think I'll stick with 9X.

Have there been any updates to 9x these days?

I have NEVER found a proper dump that ZSNES wouldn't play, and play flawlessly.

As for the UI, that's the main thing I like about it. reminds me of NESticle which was the only NES emulator back in the day.

Nesticle, is it the one with the bloody hand for the mouse pointer?
I liked that.
