Got a spare $1000?

In Buy/Sell/Trade

If so check out this bargain!

1000$??!

And 1000$ don't seem to be the end, the auctions going for another 2d14h.

I mean I have 1000$ - hehehe, my plain ticket to Japan this summer - but...

Okay... now this is stupid.

What in the....

There is no way....

...for a second, I thought I smelled Wookie!

Seriously, if this is how much its worth, why not just buy the arcade machine? Geez...

Isn't the arcade machine then with about three 0s more?

Maybe if it was a sealed arcade machine.

That's a good one.

good god... I had no idea Donkey Kong was worth that much... Digital Press says it's worth $4... I'm just confused now...

4$ loose.
The auction is on a sealed game.

But: I didn't know that it was so rare, too.

yes, $4 loose, but complete usually doubles the value, making $8, sealed kicks it up some more. but not $1000....

But some people must badly have to have that. It already has 21 bids.
1009$, that's nearly twice as much as infamous chewbaca4 got for his NIB NES console some days before.

Maybe digitpress is wrong sometimes...

Well, it seems there were some box revisions, that is the more rare one, so it does have more value than digital press is stating, but not $1000

Well it's worth that much to whoever wins it and that's all that counts. I'm interested to see how high this ends. Normally you'd expect a bidding war in the last few minutes to push the price right up on an auction like this.

Even when it's not "worth" it... people pay it.

That's capitalism. Maybe there are a few people who already own all the other versions and badly need that last one, too.

And "worth" is always in the eyes of the beholder.
The material alone would perhaps not be worth 4$ by today's standards...

well, I suppose if you're that serious about owning every variation, and have the money to spare then more POWer to you... just not worth it in my opinion.

Of course it's not worth it in my opinion, too.

edit:

Finally I have my smiley with even bigger eys.

OK, it's not a $1000 cart, but...

again!!

4950$

NES maniacs are rich these days...

Well that Donkey Kong auction has ended early, probably because of an outside bid the seller decided to take. A shame as we'll never know how much it went for now.

HOLY... CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didnt know DK costs that much! We do need need smileys whith bigger eyes!

anyone ever consider that those could be down payments on a house...but ohhh no, now we are playing with POWer!!

Is it so easy to end autions when you have outside bids??
Or maybe he just bluffed and didn't want to sell it?

We'll never know...

Yes it seems it's perfectly legitimate to end an auction early because no one has won the item yet and therefore it is still the property of the seller. It's only when the item is won at the end of an auction that a Contract is formed between the buyer and seller. To me it all seems a bit unfair because the item was sold without the other bidders having an opportunity to raise their amount, but hey that's life.

Pfff insane how much it can be worth, glad i'm not a perfectionist!

Because if you were a perfectionist you'd have to have that cart and pay insane prices?

Sealed can go insanely high yeah, but i can understand if it's one of the last you need to complete your collection as collecting sealed.

I should have bought lots of games when I was little and now sell them for crazy prices. If I only knew 15 years before.
