Good Prices for NES Games?

In Buy/Sell/Trade

I recently found a guy who is willing to sell me 13 NES Games for $2/cart. Now, I was wondering if this is a decent price for these games or if I should not bother with them. I don't know exactly what the ames are yet, but I know 3 Ultima games in there.

Thanks

It really depends on the games, but that could be a decent(not great) deal. If they include instructions and/or boxes, that's a steal.

He's got 4 of the games in boxes. He said they are in working order, and not bad contion.

I'd probably do it, then. Again, get a list first-- if they're all SMB/Duckhunt, it's not worth it.

Yeah, I mainly want to get the games that NES-Luke and I don't already have.

If they are all different, with out doubles i'd do it, here in holland at the flea they sell them even $3-$4 a piece and those are only carts.
As you said there are a couple boxed ones,i'd totally do it,well offer him $25 instead of $26,he'll take that i guess.

I'd start at $20, personally...

funny, you guys are telling her exactly what I told her

what _I_ say you try, is offer a buck a cart and take 'em all at once. if that doesn't fly, offer $20.

but again, give me a list of what they are, we really don't need any more SMB/DH carts, I'm already GIVING them away.

If they are all different ones, it's a good price.
For how much did you buy it, then?

Do you really have so many Duckhunt carts, Luke?
I don't even have one. They seem kind of rare in Germany.

SMB/DH is the MOST common cart ever, I had three of them (still do for a few more days) and I'm sure I'll end up with more in the future...

Is it more common than the SMB only cart?

I would say so, I've only ever seen one SMB cart. but EVERYONE has SMB/DH, most people have a few copies of it. I own three, and there is a 4th here too.

That's really interesting to know.
What is common in Germany is a cart with SMB, Tetris and World Cup.
I never saw a SMB Duckhunt cart here.

Did that happen to come with the system itself? If so, North America was getting ripped off!

Yes, it came with the NES and a 4 score adaptor.
I can't temember well, but I don't think they sold it seperately.

Well, the closest thing we had to that over here was the NES, POWer Pad, and SMB/DH/WCTM. I think I would've MUCH rather Tetris come with my system than Duckhunt

Duckhunt rocks!

but only for a few minutes, it's always the same. Tetris is always fun to pick up and play for a half hour or so.

I second that.
Tetris is better than Duckhunt.

For the NES I prefer Duckhunt to Tetris, but that's because i've always prefered Tetris on the gameboy.

I never was a fan of Tetris until I played it on the NES just recently. it was OK for a few minutes. But now I'm actually having fun with it. I just wish I could find Tengen Tetris, since it's such a superior game.

I've never personally played the Tengen Tetris, but from what I understand the game isn't any better. Maybe a little more rare, but that's about it. I'll have to get my hands on that one to see for myself, though.

You can play Tengen Tetris 2 player or against the computer so theres a couple more options.

two player alone makes the game twice as good in my opinion.

I didn't even realize the Nintendo version wasn't two player. I'll have to look into this Tengen version for sure. It's a Goal to have all games anyway!

Yes, a 2 player option is great.
But one bad thing is that you have to play on a split screen even when you are playing alone.

yeah, I did notice that, but I didn't find it to be that big of a deal...it's just Tetris, the screen is likely the same size as Nintendo's anyway, just with less crap all over the place.

Well, there is now a list of games, only 8 of them were cool, I think Ultima 1-3 complete is the coolest part of the deal though, $2 each for them is a deal, and I think scoring three completes makes it worth paying $2 for the rest of them

Ultima 1
Ultima 2
Ultima 3
Pool of Radiance
Legacy of the Wizard
Bard's Tale
Dungeon Magic
Kings Quest (the guy wrote 7, but as far as I know there was only 5 on the NES)

Ultima 1-3 ?
That was a very good deal if you ask me.

The other games also don't seem bad.

yeah, the others are nothing special, but they'll add to the collection, and I do enjoy older RPGs.

So I bought 5 games for $10. I've got Kings Quest V, Ultima: Exodus, Ultima: Warriors of Destiny, Ultima: Quest for the Avatar and Pool of Radiance. The first 4 are all in boxes, but don't have the manuals. Still, it's a pretty good haul, I think.

Yes, that's definately worth it! I'm having trouble finding Quest of the Avatar, and it saddens me. To me, that was one of the better RPGs that was released on the NES. I would've paid $20 for that game alone!

and with some luck, I'll be picking those up at the end of the month I'll have to spend some time with the Ultima series, I haven't played them much at all, they seem very great though, and from what I have played I enjoyed. I very much like the battle music from Exodus (at least the battle music I've heard, there may be other songs) I've been listening to the NSF of it for a few days now.

The Ultima series isn't a legend for nothing.
Very great games, but very hard to find in Germany.

I have 1 Ultima game, Friday i wanted to start on it but i am still playing Gargoyle's Quest 2 at the moment and it's so addictive that i can't start to play Ultima just yet.
I know if i start playing it i'd like to beat it, same as GQ2,almost beat it though, 1 more night!

dont worry my friend, you'll enjoy Ultima Quest of the Avatar. i didnt send it to ya for nothing

if they all work theres a ood deal whether there in box or not 2$ is cheap i get mine for 3-4 usually i would go for it
